At Canberra Traditional Karate Centres we practice the Okinawan Goju-Ryu style of Karate. Goju-Ryu translates as hard and soft style incorporating very explosive and powerful movement with soft, whip like actions. It is known around the world as one of the most effective traditional martial arts for its variety of practices. Goju-Ryu originates from Okinawa, Japan and has a less militaristic approach compared to that of mainland Japan martial arts. The objective of Goju-Ryu is not to break people down, but build them up to reach their full potential in self defense and life. The style was founded by Master Miyagi.
