Sensei Joe Roses is Australia's highest ever graded black belt for IOGKF. He is chief instructor for the Australian IOGKF as well as the Australia Okinawa Goju-ryu Karate Federation (AOGKF). He regularly teaches seminars all over the world, including in Okinawa, Japan - the birthplace of Karate. He is one of the most accomplished martial artists in Australia.
He has practiced martial arts for over 48 years and along with being a 8th Dan in Goju-ryu Karate, he is also a 2nd Dan in Jujitsu and a 1st Dan in Kyokushinkai Karate. Today Sensei Joe teaches out of his Dojo in Bonython.
Sensei Kevin Nash is a perfect example of the potential of training at the Canberra traditional karate centres. Having joined over 40 years ago, he has risen to the become one of the countries most senior and expert Karate practitioners. Traveling to Japan multiple times per year, Sensei Kevin has been able to spend quality time with Goju-ryu's grand master learning directly from the source.
He has been subjected to rigorous testing in Japan on numerous occasions , passing every time. Today he serves in Australia as the chairman of the AOGKF and teaches out of the Woden Valley Dojo.
Sensei Luke began training at the Canberra Traditional Karate Centres decades ago. He has risen through the ranks to achieve a 4th Degree Black Belt and to become a great technical exponent of our art. Sensei Luke has travelled extensively to study Goju-ryu Karate, including to Okinawa, Japan - the birthplace of Karate.
Sensei Luke is co-head instructor of our Woden Valley Dojo.
Sensei David Carberry is an accomplished martial arts instructor. He has trained in many places, including intensively in Japan. Despite having a wide knowledge of Karate he has chosen to focus purely on Goju-ryu many years ago, Sensei Dave has risen through the ranks to become a 3rd Dan Black Belt in the art.
With a vast experience of two major Karate styles, he is a beneficial instructor for any student regardless of their level or any past experience. Today Sensei David Carberry teaches out of our Kaleen Dojo.
